Iniquity distillery, bottled by Barrel and Bottle.
Two single casks of shiraz and bourbon married together.
I didn’t see much info about this. Iniquity is the distillery (Australian) and Barrel & Bottle is the bottler? Looked to be ~280 bottles, cask strength, and unfiltered. Bottle had % breakdown of shiraz vs. bourbon, but I couldn’t make it out from the picture.
Nose: Lots of malt and wine. Caramel. A hint of heather that slightly reminds me of Highland Park. Candy corn.
Palate: Sweet and warm. Juicy. I don’t know how to describe this, but wet? It just feels very wet and juicy. More malt, less wine. Popcorn. A touch salty.
Finish: Little burst of heat pops through the juiciness. Caramel and orange. The nose carries through nicely. Very composed.
Score: 3/5
Mental Image: Caramel corn slip and slide.
So yeah, I don’t really know what this is, but I like it. Not overly interesting, but I would love sipping this on the regular.
