Nose: Pretty nice. Fruity, but a bit dark and musty kind of like old, dry tobacco. Obvious sherry/port influence. Caramel.

Palate: A little spicy, but obviously watered down. Not truly lacking, but also wanting in mouthfeel. Sheen of fruits – plums, raisins, touch of cherry – with a light bitterness. Cloves. A gentle syrupyness.

Finish: Syrup transition. Gets rather astringent. Fumes of musty old dried fruits. A sip of decent sherry, heavy on the alcohol.

Score: 2.5/5
Mental Image: The drying cave.

Somewhere between a standard dram and something I’d be mildly impressed to randomly see on offer at someone’s home. Elements that I really enjoyed, a lot of averageness, and some minor flaws.
